    Serve
    The shot that starts every point, hit by tossing the ball up and striking it into the opponent's service box.
    Volley
    A shot hit before the ball bounces, usually played close to the net.
    Rally
    An extended back-and-forth exchange of shots between players before a point ends.
    Ace
    A serve that's untouched by the returner, winning the point outright.
    Deuce
    A tied score of 40-40, requiring a player to win two points in a row to take the game.
    Baseline
    The line marking the back boundary of the court, where players often stand to return serves.
    Backhand
    A stroke hit with the back of the hand leading, on the side opposite a player's dominant grip.
    Forehand
    A stroke hit with the palm leading, typically a player's most natural and powerful shot.
    Tiebreak
    A special game played to decide a set once the score reaches a set number of games apiece.
    Doubles
    A match format with two players on each side of the net, rather than the standard one-on-one singles.
