Words in This Puzzle
- Dribble
- Bouncing the ball repeatedly with one hand while moving, the main way players legally advance without passing.
- Rebound
- Gaining possession of the ball after a missed shot bounces off the rim or backboard.
- Defense
- The team without the ball, working to prevent the other side from scoring.
- Offense
- The team with the ball, working to move it down the court and score.
- Timeout
- A short break called by a coach to stop play, rest players, or plan strategy.
- Freethrow
- An unguarded shot awarded after certain fouls, taken from a fixed line near the basket.
- Layup
- A close-range shot taken by driving toward the basket and gently laying the ball in near the rim.
- Jumpshot
- A shot released at the top of a jump, one of the most common ways to score from mid-range or beyond.
- Dunk
- A shot scored by jumping and forcefully putting the ball directly through the hoop by hand.
- Pivot
- A move where a player keeps one foot planted while stepping around with the other to change position.
